March 2022
NOTE: It's now July 2024. I've had these files on disk for a very long time, but had not written the post to use them. I do so now simply to get what I have up.
6th of March
I shot everything with AR10 at 10m.
I can tell looking at these cards that I was shooting terribly, and was incredibly frustrated. I don't know if I've mentioned this in prior posts, but the reason for writing the expletives in runes, instead of normal letters, is because runes have power - at the least, in my mind they do - and the aim is to invoke some of that power to rebalance myself. I don't think it works, but it feels very good in the moment to do it. Writing "fuck off" is fine and all, but rapidly scrawling ᚠᚢᚳᛣ ᚣᚩᚢ feels better.

What is it with the thirteenth? Last month, the Bald Wizard fixed my problems, and this month the Wild Sage gave me advice. As I hastily wrote on the back of a card halfway through the session:
In this session, Wild Sage gave me advice: left elbow into stomach straight left forearm knuckle grip (optional pinky) grip closer to trigger so arm is more stable base. Use shooting glove to counteract pain on knuckle grip + make it more consistent. I call it the Wild Sage's GRIP. Use it. get good, cunt.
| Stance | Card ID | Card Type | Score | Notes | Scanned Image |
| Unsupported AR | warmup 1 | 10m | 53 | The score isn't bad, but the grouping sucks | SCAN |
| " | " 2 | " | 48 | 1 miss | SCAN |
| " | Wildsage 1 | " | 46 | "Change of style on Wild Sage's advice, so score irrelevant" | SCAN |
| " | Wildsage 2 | " | 51 | Practice with new grip + arm positioning on wild sage's advice | SCAN |
| " | Wildsage 3 | " | 57 | SCAN | |
| " | Wildsage 4 | " | 60 | "This grip is way better." | SCAN |
Thank you, Wild Sage.

I shot one card from the bench today, and the rest unsupported. All the air rifle.
| Stance | Card ID | Card Type | Score | Notes | Scanned Image |
| Supported AR | AR 10 Bench | 10m | 72 | Never eat shredded wheat? Stop shooting like shite. | SCAN |
| Unsupported AR | Practice 1 | 10m | 50 | SCAN | |
| Unsupported AR | Practice 2 | 10m | 57 | SHOOT BETTER - with 1 miss | SCAN |
| Unsupported AR | Practice 3 | 10m | 46 | ARM IN - LINE UP - BREATHE - PAD SQUEEZE | Shot like shit >=( | SCAN |
I clearly had to remind myself of Wild Sage's advice - it didn't help. I was probably having a bad day.
March 2022 roundup
I only shot the air rifle this month, at 10m. I shot primarily unsupported.
Here's a chart logging my average scores and number of misses, with lines of best fit. The scatter chart uses data from October 2021 through to the end of March 2022.
My average unsupported score was 52, about 4 better than February
Unsupported, I shot 160 pellets and missed 6, giving a raw inaccuracy of 3.75%
My best unsupported score this month was 60, whilst my worst was 39
This makes my best this month 21 better than my worst, and 3 worse than my best to date.
EDIT: I realised after the fact that the 72 is actually a bench rest shot. I don't want to redo the charts, though the spreadsheet has been fixed. My best remains the 63 from last month. That 72 at bench was 9 worse than my best bench card to date.
While my shooting isn't great, my unsupported misses average is about half what it was in February, and my average score is better too. Looking at the scatter, my consistency was also a little better than last month, though it still isn't great.
