Welcome to Eomer Games! This is a place for me to put things that interest me, and the things I'm working on.

I had to learn a great many things to create this site. For starters, I hadn't used HTML since about 1998, and hadn't used CSS or PHP before, my dabbling-efforts instead focused on programming languages such as C, C++, C#, 6502 assembly, and presently GDScript.

This site is meant to be a little like the early net. A place for my projects, a pit-stop for web-surfers, without cookies or trackers, or an exorbitant amount of data being sent to the user. Like others, I've tired of "an Increasingly User-Hostile Web".

To that end I've limited myself to PHP - no Javascript - run on the server instead of your broswer, to determine simple things like the last update to a file, generating the menu carousel, and determining the time of year so the images change with the seasons.

It is important to me that Eomer Games be navigable by text-based browsers like Links and Lynx, without having to find out what browser you're using. I've implemented a navigation map system at the top and bottom of the page for those browsers. It's also pretty navigable if you turn off CSS completely on your browser.

I launched this site initially on the 16th of May 2022 as Eomer's Room, although I eventually burnt out and took a long meandering break. I returned to updating it on the 21st of July 2024, rebranding it as Eomer Games, to be in line with my tinkering hobbies, although I still plan to post other things.
